Quilts

There is something about a quilt that makes you stop and look. So much work! Sometimes it is hard to fathom the amount of fabric, number of cuts, the strips and squares, the sewing and the quilting that goes into each.

Each is so unique. Give the same pattern to ten different people and you will have ten different quilts that seem so unique you would have to stop to realize the pattern was the same. The quilter's personality really comes through with the colors she chooses for the fabrics. You can further sense the era it was made by the shades of those colors.

I like the colors, and the pattern reminds me a bit of the "Southwest". Very Beautiful.

I really love looking at such intricate quilts, and it's true you can see each quilter's personality come through. I've determined I don't have the patience to do that myself--there's the personality thing coming to the forefront. I'm going to stick with doing smaller wall hangings that I don't have to follow an exact pattern. I'm not sure what that says about my personality--maybe it's just a sign of my age!

Yes they are always so different. They say the quilters are having a show in Knoxville this summer. Hopefully I will get to go see the quilts.
