Graduation Time - the gift of a quilt

This was a graduation gift to a very lucky granddaughter. Thankfully, this granddaughter appreciates all the work. If she takes really good care of this quilt, it should last her lifetime.

The pattern of each large block is totally different - like a Block of the Month Quilt.

The small blocks are identical. Some of the same fabric was always used within each main block, pulling the quilt together and coordinating the color theme.

What a gift of love!

Beautiful quilt and what a special gift! I made my first quilt several years ago. It took forever! I kept putting it away for several months and then getting it back out. We call that one the "7 year quilt". :)

What a lovely quilt! Being a quilter myself, I sure can appreciate all of the work and time that went into that.

What a wonderful gift and what a beautiful quilt. Wherever she goes in life, that quilt will always be a tie to her grandmother, and no matter how many times she moves over the years it will make wherever she lives instantly home.

Oh Connie! This is just amazing! The colors, the patterns, the warmness. Absolutely stunning, I am a very impatient person with tasks such as this, however, I have recently begun scrapbooking, and LOVE it! Thanks for your nice comments on my blog. Now that it's summer, I have more time to do this!
