Fall Quilt

Time to share another autumn quilt. The pumpkins are on the vines, orange and red leaves are falling, the old wood buckets are grayer than in spring; everything reflects another season has passed.

This quilt amazes me because everything is cut from fabric (duh!) and has the perfect colors and perfect variations. Fabric is not what it use to be! Some people really know how to find the right pieces to bring out the right colors.

Oh, I know people are now designing their own fabric with Jell-o, crayons, shaving cream and paints, but this reflects what one can do when they carefully choose. I think this quilt captures that ability. Great job, Zella!

How is that quilted? I am assuming it is fused applique but what a great job of fabric choice and fussy cutting!

Zella did a fabulous job. I love the colors of fall, they're so vibrant.

Paula, she uses the fused technique for this kind of work. I wonder if the black vines were done with an embroidery stitch - I do not remember.

This quilt reminds me of picking the correct glass when making a stained glass piece. Just have to move around on the glass (or fabric) to get just the right piece for the effect you want.

This is beautiful.
