Reunion Quilt

How appropriate to have a reunion quilt be a tree of life! Leora made this for the last family reunion. The families signed their names with permanent ink on the light green leaves, creating an heirloom filled with dates and oodles of memories. As time passes, those signatures will become priceless.

A sweet ceramic bird waits to enter the birdhouse, adding a unique and delightful touch.

I love the fact that Leora signs her quilts! The name label, to be found on the back of the quilt, may list the pattern and other pertinent information. If you are a quilter, give some serious thought to adding your name - those who own the quilt will greatly enjoy that personal touch.

You can see more of her quilts at cr Gifts 2 Love.

"A Tree of Life"---How wonderful! And what a great idea. She does beautiful work. Love the birdie house with the ceramic bird.

I have tags for my knitting and always add them. I have made a few quilts, but have never thought of adding to the quilts. Great idea.

What a beautiful quilt and what a wonderful way to remember a family reunion. I have been doing a little quilting this past year, and the longtime quilter that I have been learning from always insists on a label. Every quilt has a story, and a label can help tell that story. I have a quilt that came from my husband's family, but all we know about it is that it was made in Pennsylvania. What a difference a label would have made.
