New Colors Quilted

Here is another new quilt in the making. My daughter is putting together quilts for her girls. She let the girls choose the colors!

The border that appears almost black is actually purple. Did you put purple and orange together when you were young? Isn't it fun!

We probably didn't when we were young, but it is fun. I think combining colors that we considered 'off limits' has turned out some beautiful combinations. The purple in orange are great together.

This is another lovely quilt!

It seems to me that there were more rules way back when about what colors and patterns that you could combine together. If you strayed too far you were considered a bit weird. I do like all the combinations you see now and enjoy the freedom of expression that is not only considered acceptable but desirable, although some of the clothing patterns and combinations you see on the younger generation do make me shudder. :)

Awe, Elaine, I 'shudder' too, but I guess I dislike ALL BLACK most of all - (I mean nails, lipstick etc). LOL

Because of the combined Saco/Hinsdae team we see the kids wearing lots of maroon and orange. I'm getting better at tolerating it but yah know how some color combos about make you sick that's how maroon and orange affect me.

I just love scrap quilts and using left-over fabrics so I guess if it looks ok that's fine by me! Anyhow have you ever looked at the colour combinations in flowers? If God does it why can't I play too?
